May 2008
Dear Loved One,
Could you use some help right now? Are difficult circumstances crowding in on your life, your family—maybe even affecting your walk with God?
It’s undeniable that you and I are living in times that are loaded with pressure. But there is a resource that Jesus promised us, sent to us, and commanded His disciples to receive. And that resource’s very name is Helper. He is the Holy Spirit.
When you and I open to the restoration, intimacy, and fullness of the Holy Spirit—not just as an initial experience, but as an abiding flow—our lives are shaped by the supply of God’s grace in us, rather than by the pressures of the world around us. Being filled (and re-filled) with the Holy Spirit builds and sustains the image of Jesus Christ in us, not only pushing back that which attempts to erode our lives, but also flowing out of us His living water to others.
As we approach the celebration of Pentecost, that great Day recorded in the Book of Acts in which the Church was born, I’d like to help you better understand the Holy Spirit, whose invisible workings make it possible for God’s truth to be incarnate in us—to grow, to enable, and to empower us.
I’ve written to you this month about seven different ways in which the Holy Spirit comes, and I’m extending an invitation for you to join me for one week in welcoming Him to freshly come into your life in each of those unique ways.
Join me. He’s ready and willing, dear one. Waiting for us to draw near.
Opening to His flow...
....today and every day,
Pastor Jack
P.S. As my personal thank you for your support of the ministry this month, I’d like you to have “The Holy Spirit and You!”—four teachings that will help you understand this Person of the Godhead and His function in our lives.
