Is Unity in Christ’s Body essential and biblical? |
Pastor Hayford is very concerned about the "schisms" that the enemy of our souls seems to keep igniting in the body of Christ. Unity is essential. Psalm 133:1 says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Proverbs 6:16-19 says, "These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren." God’s opinion is pretty strong and clear on this matter. Please do not grow weary, from the things you are hearing, but continue to contend and pray for the unity of all of God's children. Your voice is not alone. We believe the following quote sums it up: "In essentials, unity--in non-essentials, liberty--in all things, charity." |
