When we seek forgiveness, God does not remember our sin

God not remembering our sins anymore when we seek His forgiveness is seen in several scriptures. Hebrews 8:12 says, "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." In Jeremiah 31:34 we read, "…For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." In Isaiah 43:25 it says, "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins."

The Scriptures seem to clearly indicate that when we with all of our heart seek God’s forgiveness for our sin, His forgiveness is immediate and complete. But in most cases that is just for the specific act. There still will need to be healing accomplished in our hearts and lives, and possibly in others affected by us. Our almighty, all-powerful, all-knowing God, loves us so much He does not hold our forgiven transgressions to our account. The blood of His Son washes them away.

by a new and living way, which He consecrated for us..."
