What Does The Bible Say About
Not Being Part Of A Church ?

Sometimes people make the choice of not being part of a "church family" out of past hurt. It is true, that there is fault we can find in the body of Christ, which I am sure causes our Heavenly Father much heartache. But even though we will not be able to find the "perfect" church this side of Heaven, the Bible still tells us we need one another (I Corinthians 12:12-27), and that we are not to "forsake the assembling of ourselves together" (Hebrews 10:25). Another analogy given of the body of Christ is that of "sheep," and Jesus is the "good shepherd" (John 10:11). It is not healthy or safe for sheep to be off on their own. They need the protection of the flock and their shepherd.  We do not believe the Bible gives any kind of basis for being a "lone Christian."
