II Corinthians 5:8 says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, which literally means to depart from your physical body (your soul and spirit depart) is to now be among one’s own people or "at home with God." Thessalonians 4:16 where it talks of the dead in Christ shall rise first, is actually speaking of the physical corpse, not the soul or spirit, which are already present with the Lord. |
