There are scriptural guidelines that can provide us some direction on this subject.. The first and foremost is found in II Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" This tells us in no uncertain terms that it is outside of God's will for us to marry, or even have an intimate relationship with, an unbeliever. If we let our emotions dictate our decisions, we are likely to make one that we'll regret for the rest of our life. Trust the Lord and His word. They are the only absolutes in a world of relativism. |
