What is doctrine?

II Timothy 3:16 says, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." The Greek word for "doctrine" here is didaskalia which means instruction (the function or the information), learning, teaching. So the basic point here is all Scripture is where you will find what you’re seeking.

For more detailed information on "doctrines," you may go to your local Christian bookstore where you will find books by various titles that will list for you "All the Doctrines of the Bible," or "Systematic Theology." These are the types of books one would use in Bible college training.
