EXPECTANCY
By
Jack W. Hayford
And my speech
and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom,
but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power (1 Corinthians 2:4).
True New Testament
ministry requires results. It is not theory, it is action.
Paul's words exhort me...and you. To those who teach, Paul
says, "Don't deceive yourself by thinking you're through when
you've preached or taught. Press for follow-through! Expect life
changes!" To those who listen, The message says, "Don't
deceive yourself by thinking it is enough to be taught or to hear.
The hearing of faith responds. Expect God's hand at work-in you
and through you.
I'm feeling
very expectant as I write these words. The Holy Spirit is pressing
His people-all of us-to move together toward a new season of manifest
miracles glorifying Jesus in our midst. It won't come without
conflict. It won't happen without spiritual warfare. We must possess
the land in Jesus' name.
Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has
been given to Me in heaven and on earth.... Go into all the world...And
these signs will follow those who believe: In my name..."(Matthew
28:18; Mark 16:15).
Let the name
of Jesus begin to stir new confidence in your life today. He has
granted that instrument-His own name-as the signature, the badge
of authority, the security, the guarantee of every promise offered
us in the Word. And in that name, we are to expect results. In our
life. In our family. In our neighborhood. In our church. In our
world.
Yes, there
is a waiting of faith, a patience of hope, and a fellowship of those
who learn to abide in the assurance of God's goodness-even when
answers are not immediately forthcoming. But there are also times
to expect action.
Let me urge
you to be open to such a time for you. Today. Now. Expect
with me. Boldly believe! |
